What changed in Forever

Leveling 1–60

1–20: a two-hander and instant Ghost Wolf

Talents at level 10

The primary configuration uses a two-handed weapon. Lightning Shield is maintained from 8, while Earth Shock primarily interrupts dangerous spells. The first five points are allocated to Thundering Strikes, followed by Mental Dexterity 3/3: from 17, Intellect adds an equal amount of attack power. Improved Ghost Wolf reaches 2/2 at 19, making Ghost Wolf instant when trained at 20. Shamanistic Focus at 20 reduces the mana cost of shocks and Lightning Shield by 45%.

The relic Totem of Charged Flames is available from Call of Fire from level 10. Call of the Elements and Totemic Recall become available at 20; recalling totems restores 25% of their mana cost. Totemic Projection moves placed totems from 22. The class quest sequences appear below.

21–32: Stormstrike and cooldown resets

Talents at level 21

Anticipation reaches 3/3 at 21–23 and provides 6% dodge. Ancestral Knowledge is acquired at 24, followed by Stormstrike at 25. Stormstrike attacks with the equipped weapon and increases the next eligible Nature spell's damage by 20% for 12 seconds; Earth Shock usually consumes this effect. Both damage per swing and weapon DPS are relevant equipment criteria.

Flurry reaches 4/5 at 26–29: after a melee critical strike, the next three attacks are 20% faster. Improved Stormstrike at 30–31 grants a 15-second effect retaining 50% regeneration while casting and resets Stormstrike after a dodge or parry. Each effect has a 50% chance at 1/2 and 100% at 2/2. Spirit Weapons enables parrying at 32.

33–43: hit, regeneration and Water Shield

Talents at level 33

By 32, Enhancement contains 23 points. Tidal Focus reaches 5/5 by 37 and grants 5% hit; Mindfulness reaches 3/3 by 40 and retains 50% regeneration while casting. Its interaction with Improved Stormstrike remains untested, so combined 100% regeneration is unconfirmed. Full Spirit regeneration resumes after 5 seconds without mana expenditure.

Improved Reincarnation reaches 2/2 by 42 and adds 4% maximum health. Water Shield is acquired at 43 and costs no mana. An incoming attack or a spell critical effect consumes one of its three globes and restores 2% maximum mana. The frequency of activation is limited; only one elemental shield can remain active.

44–53: healing through incoming damage

Talents at level 44

Healing Focus reaches 3/3 by 46 and provides 70% protection against healing cast pushback. One point is allocated to Totemic Focus at 47; Mana Tide Totem is acquired at 48, followed by the remaining Totemic Focus ranks to 5/5. Nature’s Swiftness at 53 allows an instant Healing Wave. Group healing requires equipment with Intellect, Spirit and healing power.

54–60: completion of 0/30/21

Talents at level 54

Mental Quickness reaches 2/2 at 54–55 and adds spell damage and healing equal to up to 30% of Intellect. Ancestral Knowledge reaches 5/5 at 56–59, followed by Flurry 5/5 at 60. No talent reset is required during leveling. At level 60, subsequent talent allocation and pre-raid gear depend on the intended role.

Dodge or stronger weapon effects

Talents at level 23

The main route takes Anticipation 3/3 for 6% dodge. Before Improved Stormstrike it provides defense; after 31, dodges also reset the strike. The choice assumes solo fights where the shaman takes incoming attacks.

When a tank receives most incoming attacks, the three points may be allocated to Elemental Weapons. This strengthens weapon effects, while dodge-triggered resets are less frequent because attacks are directed at the tank. Comparative measurements of experience per hour are unavailable.

Weapon and mana planning

A two-handed weapon is the primary configuration; a one-handed weapon and shield form a reserve set. Flametongue Weapon is used before 30, followed by Windfury Weapon. Rockbiter Weapon increases threat, which affects its suitability in group combat.

Two-handed weapons are assessed by DPS and damage per swing because Stormstrike uses weapon damage. In short encounters, the cost of a complete totem set can exceed its benefit. Totemic Recall restores part of this expenditure before movement to the next location.

The Rage of the Storm and shield chain starts at 30. Its elite finale is appropriate at approximately 37–40, or earlier with a group; the sequence appears under class quests.A complete corresponding Horde weapon chain is unconfirmed in the available data. Verified weapons from the equipment section and on-route dungeons form the available progression options.

Levels 10 and 50–60: some items have only been checked against Classic. Each card lists the stat version and source. Sources and data limitations

Dungeons

The leveling route includes one visit to each dungeon located along the route. Quest experience is the primary objective; equipment drops are a secondary benefit. Repeat visits are reserved for pre-raid equipment collection at level 60. Experience totals exclude kills and bonuses. Full-chain totals include prerequisite and follow-up quests, which may require an additional visit. The percentage of a level uses the experience requirement at the listed starting level.

XP and sources

Both totals use quests available at the start of the recommended level range. The first includes direct quests without extra chains. The second includes the entire known list, including preparation and follow-ups; it is a reference total, not a promise of XP from one run. If there are no chains, the totals match. Quests spanning multiple wings award XP once.

Kills and bonuses are excluded. Classic rewards are reference values; unknown XP is excluded from totals. Quest-name links lead to Wowhead or ForeverChanges. Pick up yourself means we do not rely on sharing, including when sharing is unconfirmed. Checked 31.10.2026.
