What changed in Forever

Leveling 1–60

Bear Form is the main combat form from 10. Cat Form becomes available at 20 for single targets and faster travel. Progression through Feral Combat retains Bear Form for multiple enemies and tanking. Mana regeneration continues in both forms, providing a reserve for healing between encounters.

1–9: spells and weapons

Talents at level 10

Combat begins with Wrath at maximum range. Moonfire is applied when the target is expected to survive long enough for periodic damage. Thorns and Mark of the Wild are maintained throughout combat. Finishing nearly defeated enemies with weapon attacks preserves mana. Weapon selection considers damage per second because weapon damage also contributes to combat-form damage in Forever.

10–19: Bear and preparation for Cat

Talents at level 10

The Bear Form class chain is completed at 10. The first five points are allocated to Ferocity to reduce the cost of core attacks. Furor 3/5 and Feral Swiftness 2/2 follow, providing 30% movement speed in Cat Form when it becomes available at 20. Armor and Stamina remain useful defensive attributes for Bear Form on early equipment.

Bear Form spends Rage on Maul, with Swipe used against multiple enemies. Available ability ranks are learned from the trainer. Rejuvenation can be applied before combat, followed by a return to form. Mana regeneration continues in forms; full Spirit regeneration resumes five seconds after the last mana expenditure.

20–29: Cat, Charge and bleeds

Talents at level 20

At 20, the new class chain unlocks Cat Form and the trainer provides Omen of Clarity. Claw is used against single targets, with Rake added at 24. Periodic damage contributes more when the target survives several ticks. Finisher selection depends on remaining health; Rip cannot deliver its full damage if the target dies before its duration ends.

Feral Charge is selected at 20, followed by Savage Fury and Sharpened Claws. Lacerate at 25 gives Bear Form a bleed for targets with substantial health. Blood Frenzy converts critical strikes into additional resources. Predatory Strikes and the fourth rank of Furor complete this stage, improving Energy recovery after healing and returning to Cat Form.

30–41: completion of the main talent tree

Talents at level 30

Leader of the Pack becomes available at 30, together with Travel Form from the trainer. Dash provides faster travel over short distances in Cat Form. Predatory Strikes is completed before points are allocated to Natural Instinct and Feral Instinct. Predatory Discipline at 38 preserves excess Energy after Ferocious Bite.

Primal Bite and Dire Bear Form are learned at 40. Shifting Power is added at 41 to convert mana into Energy. Repeated use consumes mana required for healing. Furor preserves Energy through form changes, while the mana cost of shapeshifting must also be included in the resource assessment.

42–60: attributes, total damage and hit

Talents at level 42

Five points are allocated to Heart of the Wild at 42–46. Naturalist is completed at 47–51, providing 10% total damage and reducing the cast time of Healing Touch. Genesis then improves bleeds and periodic healing. Nature’s Majesty adds 4% critical strike chance, and Nature’s Reach adds 4% hit chance.

This allocation remains suitable for solo play at 60. The calculator provides separate presets for Bear Form, Balance and healing. Role changes require corresponding weapons and equipment. Healing benefits from Intellect, Spirit and healing power; Bear Form benefits from Armor, Stamina and Defense.

Control and form changes

Entangling Roots allows movement away from enemies or separation of individual targets; damage may break the effect. Bash and Bear Form Feral Charge interrupt dangerous casts. Group healing requires leaving form with sufficient mana. Applying control before healing provides time to complete a healing cast. Mouseover healing and leave-form commands are listed in the macros section.

Mana expenditure when changing form

The current tooltip specifies the cost of changing form. This cost depends on base mana, so its share of the total reserve varies with Intellect on equipment. Current Shifting Power data lists 55% of base mana for 40 Energy. Base mana excludes the Intellect bonus.

Mana conversion is used when additional Energy can be retained. Returning to Cat Form after healing accounts for Furor and the subsequent expenditure of recovered Energy. Encounters with dangerous opponents require a mana reserve for leaving form, control and healing.

Levels 10 and 50–60: some items have only been checked against Classic. Each card lists the stat version and source. Sources and data limitations

Dungeons

The leveling route includes one visit to each dungeon located along the route. Quest experience is the primary objective; equipment drops are a secondary benefit. Repeat visits are reserved for pre-raid equipment collection at level 60. Experience totals exclude kills and bonuses. Full-chain totals include prerequisite and follow-up quests, which may require an additional visit. The percentage of a level uses the experience requirement at the listed starting level.

XP and sources

Both totals use quests available at the start of the recommended level range. The first includes direct quests without extra chains. The second includes the entire known list, including preparation and follow-ups; it is a reference total, not a promise of XP from one run. If there are no chains, the totals match. Quests spanning multiple wings award XP once.

Kills and bonuses are excluded. Classic rewards are reference values; unknown XP is excluded from totals. Quest-name links lead to Wowhead or ForeverChanges. Pick up yourself means we do not rely on sharing, including when sharing is unconfirmed. Checked 31.10.2026.
